About me

Hi! I’m Tali.
Here I share a little bit more about the human behind the lens

I'm an International Photographer with a Fine Arts background, originally from Israel, and now living in a small beach town on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. I’ve been photographing for the past 10 years (15 if you count my amateur stage).

My photography journey first began as an innocent hobby, and that initial spark eventually led to my art studies in my early twenties. Looking back, I still appreciate that there was something so naive and experimental about my fascination with photography long before it became a more “serious” thing in my life.

When I was just 16 years old, I would dress up my younger sister in the most visually striking look we could pull together from our little suburban closets, we would do our best to create elaborate, edgy fashion looks, and then I would proceed to position and photograph her all around our parents backyard. When I realized how much fun I was having with this, a passion awakened in me and I decided to spend my summer at a Photography and Creative Arts summer program in New York City. That summer I knew this was much more than a cute, fleeting interest.

Falling in love with photography was one of the most natural, effortless and authentic processes I’ve ever entered into.

Years down the line, I completed a 4 year Bachelor's degree of Photography and Fine Arts at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Israel. Following my degree, I continued on to study Fashion Photography with Fashion Photographer Ron Kedmi at his photography school in Tel Aviv.

Though the subject content of my photography has often been dynamic and changing, my photography style remains fairly consistent to this day.

If I had to describe my style, it would probably be something to the like of - “intimate and contemplative with an aesthetic touch.” Sometimes even melancholic. I like to touch these deeper emotions when I photograph, and I love the delicate use of natural light that can capture their complexity.

Funny to admit this as a photographer, but I generally don’t like the use of artificial flashes in my work. In my eyes, the process becomes worlds more fascinating when working with the subtleties (and sometimes the challenges) that come with natural light. This is what really allows photography to be a craft that I can continue to hone.

Fun fact - Aside from photography, I’m also Yoga Teacher and a Spiritual Coach. My experience wearing these hats positively impacts my capacity to work intimately with people and to provide energetic or emotional support, which can be very helpful when considering the kinds of discomforts or obstacles that often come up around being in front of the lens.
